To utilize the printing feature, users need to launch FlexRelease CX and register the files they intend to print. The application offers options to customize print settings such as quantity, duplex or simplex mode, 2-in-1 or 4-in-1 configurations, paper size, and color mode (Black & White or Color). Once the print jobs are uploaded, the registered data within the app is deleted, ensuring user privacy and data security. It is important to note that this registered data is separate from the original files on the device.

Printing requires visiting an available Ricoh MFP associated with FlexRelease CX. Users must log in with their credentials, select the desired print jobs from the device’s LCD panel, and release the documents for printing. This process emphasizes flexibility and secure access across multiple devices and locations.

It is worth mentioning that while the FlexRelease CX app itself is free, subscription to Ricoh’s dedicated printing service is necessary to enable printing capabilities. Compatibility spans various models of iPhone (including 4, 4S, 5 series, 6 series) and iPad (including iPad mini, Air, Pro), running on iOS versions ranging from 6.1.3 to 9.3.2.

The application supports a variety of file formats suitable for business and personal use, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint files (from versions 2003 through 2013), common image formats (JPEG, TIFF, GIF, PNG), UTF-8 encoded text files, and HTML documents. The maximum size per print job is capped at 10MB.

Only Ricoh’s devices subscribed to the FlexRelease CX service are capable of releasing print jobs sent through this application, underscoring the importance of proper subscription management for seamless operation.
